Job Overview
Sequel Med Tech is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Contracts Manager to join our growing team.  This position can be remote.  Reporting directly to the VP, Legal, the Contracts Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the contracts function at Sequel. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, implementing, and owning a contract management system, as well as reviewing, tracking, and managing all contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Additionally, the Contracts Manager will collaborate with the legal team to establish standard and preferred contract terms for Sequel.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
  • Establish and manage the contracts function at Sequel, including selecting, implementing, and owning a contract management system.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters and be the first person to review all contracts at Sequel, with a primary focus on PBM and wholesale agreements.

  • Manage the supplier initiation process, including reviewing and approving supplier contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Escalate complex contract issues to the VP, Legal as needed and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Track the terms of all contracts, including key dates, milestones, and deliverables, and ensure timely action and compliance, as well as cross-functional communication of same.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret and implement contract requirements and obligations.
  • Work with the legal team to establish standard and preferred contract terms for Sequel and ensure consistency across all agreements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate effective contract management and execution.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field preferred; advanced degree or certification in contract management strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing PBM and wholesale contracts within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device company, or another healthcare organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to review and interpret complex contracts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with contract management software and tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
