Job Description

Role: To provide operational and administrative support to the EVP / In-House Counsel.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of legal documents (i.e., vendor agreements, service contracts, leases, non-disclosure agreements / confidentiality agreements, amendments, templates, letters, reports, policies, etc.) to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Administer, manage and maintain vendor and contract management for FSCU using contract software (and other resources) and coordinate vendor / contract needs with senior management team; train managers to properly use vendor management software.
  • Perform administrative and operational duties including file organization and maintenance; assist with insurance renewals; automate mundane tasks.
  • Manage contract intake form for the department; provide support in managing outside counsel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience - 2 to 5 years of similar or related experience. Fundamental understanding of contract law, insurance, and corporate matters. Demonstrated ability to adhere to highest ethical standards. Strong work ethic and a proven ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in a highly confidential and results-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with individuals throughout the organization and outside counsel in a professional manner.

Education - (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing (Paralegal Certificate preferred).

Interpersonal Skills - Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves daily personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information. Exceptional communication skills on the phone, in person and via email are critical.

Other Skills - Excellent written and organizational skills, strong work ethic with the ability to handle numerous matters simultaneously, prioritizing and effectively managing time; strong background in contract administration; Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - especially Word; Type minimum of 45 wpm; Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times; Works well under pressure; Must be able to work independently on assignments of varying complexity with minimum supervision.
