About the Role:
We're on the hunt for a driven HPC Ops Director to join the hive. This role involves leading data center teams across multiple sites to consistently deliver on client SLAs and manage 24x7 critical infrastructure. The HPC Ops Director will foster a culture of professionalism and operational excellence, overseeing everything from operational budgets to continuous improvement initiatives. Your Mission:

• Lead HPC Operations Teams to maintain 24x7 infrastructure service delivery, ensuring client SLAs for uptime and performance are met.
• Create a high-performance and professional work environment focused on mentorship and training for data center managers and supervisors.
• Provide strategic insight to the Senior Director of HPC Operations on infrastructure solutions, deployment, and implementation.
• Collaborate closely with data center teams, focusing on SLA performance and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular site visits and provide detailed reports on each data center's strengths and areas for improvement.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of state-of-the-art mission-critical data center infrastructure equipment and systems and stay updated on industry trends.
• Ensure site-level leaders prioritize projects and operational objectives effectively.
• Monitor key performance indicators, identify areas of underperformance, analyze root causes, and develop improvement plans.
• Define and communicate clear vision and requirements for work within the domain.
• Provide support for site-level leadership during absences.
• Foster open, respectful, and professional communication within the team and with leaders across the organization.

Skills:

• Leadership & Management: Proven experience managing large, distributed teams with a focus on performance, training, and continuous improvement.
• Data Center Infrastructure: Strong technical understanding of electrical, mechanical, security, and life/safety systems in mission-critical environments.
• Project Management: Expertise in driving flawless project execution, managing budgets over $1M, and ensuring timely delivery of projects and SLAs.
• Disaster Recovery: In-depth knowledge of disaster recovery strategies, planning, and implementation for mission-critical infrastructure.
• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Process Improvement: Expertise in identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
• Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze and solve complex technical and operational challenges across multiple sites.
• Technology Awareness: In-depth knowledge of cutting-edge data center technologies, trends, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business operations, or related field required; Masters preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive IT management experience within a large corporate environment, with budget management of $1M+ and a solid knowledge of systems operations and 24/7 data center support.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center infrastructure elements, including electrical, mechanical, security, and life/safety systems.
• Disaster Recovery: Proven experience with disaster recovery concepts, strategies, and implementations.
• Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Execution: Strong execution skills with the ability to drive flawless project execution and contribute to the continuous improvement of critical projects and programs.
• Residency: Candidates must reside in TX, ND, SD, OK, MN, AR, KY, TN, GA, FL, SC, or NC.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Travel: Frequent travel between data center sites is required.
• Environment: This role operates in professional office, warehouse, and data center environments, using standard equipment such as laptops, smartphones, ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 20 pounds as required by job duties.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time, onsite position with general working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some nights and weekends may be required.
