Job Description

Are you passionate about digital marketing and excited about the opportunity to implement highly strategic and innovative email campaigns for meaningful nonprofits like Special Olympics? Are you excited about the chance to work across multiple email clients to ensure their campaigns are executed flawlessly, from initial planning to final deployment? If yes, we’d love to meet you!

Interactive Strategies is a full-service digital agency based in Washington, DC, that has quickly established itself as a leading fundraising shop. We’ve partnered with amazing clients, including Special Olympics, Boston Children’s Hospital, Rainforest Trust, American Kidney Fund, and American Lung Association, to name a few. Our clients wanted to explore an agency with new ideas in digital fundraising; an agency that brings strong creative and digital storytelling; an agency that leverages multi-channel, multi-touch strategies to bring strong improvements in online engagement and ultimately, money raised.

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly focused and capable of executing dynamic email campaigns on a tactical level. We’re looking for someone with a background in digital marketing, with specific skills and expertise related to email marketing, email building, HTML/CSS and email testing. We’re willing to train the right candidate, so please feel free to apply even if you don’t meet all of the requirements below.

Our headquarters is based in Washington, DC with a hybrid work schedule. We also have many employees remote throughout the US. We are open to both DC-based and fully remote work.

Responsibilities

Talent and passion matter more to us than years of experience, but here are the abilities we are looking for:

  • Develop and deploy impactful email strategies and campaigns that leverage best practices and dynamic new tactics.
  • Support client teams in their mission to perform excellent client service and drive impactful results.
  • Assist in the project management of delivering and gaining approval for campaign components.
  • Build and deploy emails using platforms such as EveryAction, Engaging Networks, Luminate, and more.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand campaigns and objectives.
  • Manage email lists and audience segmentation on our clients' behalf to ensure personalized messaging.
  • Build and deploy email automation campaigns across platforms.
  • Perform thorough quality assurance testing of emails to ensure they render correctly across various devices and email clients.
  • Analyze email campaign performance data and make recommendations for optimizations and improvements.
  • Optimize digital fundraising campaigns to maximize ROI across channels.
  • Evaluate emerging tactics and techniques. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption as appropriate.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years of email marketing experience.
  • Experience building and deploying segmented email marketing campaigns with some working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Agency and/or nonprofit experience highly desired, but not required.
  • Experience working across a variety of email marketing platforms and technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time across multiple campaigns.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing.
  • We prefer this position to work out of the Washington DC office, but we are open to this being a remote position.

Qualities you bring to the table

  • Strategic . You understand that a strong digital marketing program is rooted in deep research and a thoughtful strategy.
  • Creative . You bring passion to your work and produce search strategies and campaigns that engage, motivate and inspire.
  • Intuitive. You're someone with that canny ability to always think one step ahead and see where the world is headed.
  • Committed. You’re committed to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Confident . You're friendly, professional and poised, whether you're brainstorming with our team, running meetings or making client presentations.
  • Passionate . You love what you do, give everything you've got and are continually seeking ways to grow in your craft.
  • Friendly . You work well with the team and appreciate feedback. You contribute ideas in a positive manner. You’re also a great listener.

Benefits

We have a simple motto when it comes to company culture, "Everyone deserves to come to work and be happy."
