Bilingual Family Supervised Visitation Monitor (Contract)

MUST MEET THE REQUIREMENTS ALL THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Complete twenty-four (24) hours of training prior to providing visitation services,
  • Include twelve (12) hours of classroom instruction in the following subjects:
  • The role of the professional provider.
  • Child abuse reporting laws.
  • Record-keeping procedures.
  • Screening, monitoring, and termination of visitation (minimum three (3) hours).
  • Developmental needs of children (minimum three (3) hours).
  • Legal responsibilities and obligations of a provider.
  • Cultural sensitivity.
  • Conflicts of interest, including the acceptance of gifts.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Issues relating to substance abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence (minimum three (3) hours).
  • Basic knowledge of family and juvenile law (minimum one (1) hour).
  • Have no conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) within the last five (5) years.
  • Not have been on probation or parole for the last ten (10) years.
  • Have no record of conviction for child molestation, child abuse, or other crimes against a person.
  • Have no civil, criminal, or juvenile restraining orders within the last 10 years.
  • Have no current or past court order in which the provider is the person being supervised.
  • Agree to adhere to and enforce the court order regarding supervised visitation.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as well as a pre-employment drug test, physical and TB test. 
  • Also, must have a driver's license in good standing, reliable transportation and be able to meet auto insurance eligibility requirements.


POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Supervised Visitation Monitor is responsible for supervising the visits to ensure a safe, secure environment and completing appropriate documentation.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise the visit between non-custodial parents and their child(ren). This includes monitoring and, if necessary, intervening with the parent or child when inappropriate behaviors are demonstrated.
  • Report, as soon as possible, any problems or concerns regarding child, parent, or issues at visitation.
  • Monitor and document interactions during supervised visits on visitation summary reports.
  • Terminate the supervised visitation if the visit becomes harmful to the child.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with parents, family members and children.
  • Be prompt in keeping appointments and adhering to agree upon schedules.
  • Record time, mileage, and supervised visitation on required documents. Turn in reports and forms by the due date.
  • Inform the Coordinator of vacations, illness etc. that would necessitate a substitute Aide, with as much advance notice as possible.
  • Respect the visitation site location rules regarding visitation procedures; and
  • Abide by the agency's confidentiality standards.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred.
  • 2 years: Experience working with children and families in a social service setting.
  • Bilingual.


WORK LOCATION: Multiple Locations.

PAY:

  • The pay scale for this position is $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending upon overall qualifications and foster/adoption experience.


SCHEDULE:

  • Flexible.
  • Varies.
  • The hours are as needed, including weekends.
