G rants Manager, Louisiana Bucket Brigade
The Louisiana Bucket Brigade is a 501(c)(3) environmental health and justice organization working with communities neighboring the state’s oil refineries and chemical plants. We use grassroots action to create an informed, healthy society that holds the petrochemical industry and government accountable for the true costs of pollution to hasten the transition from fossil fuels. Our vision is a Louisiana that is healthy, prosperous, pollution-free, and just, where people and the environment are valued over profit.
About the Position: The purpose of the Grants Manager is to relay the mission and vision of the Louisiana Bucket Brigade to existing and potential funders to meet the revenue needs of the organization. The Grants Manager is a strong writer with proven experience writing and securing grants. This person must also be an effective relationship builder. This role includes four areas of focus:
1) Completion and submission of grant applications and coordination of all stages of the grant process;
2) Coordination and management of funder relations;
3) Maintenance of internal reporting and grants administration; and
4) Participate and support other development department activities as needed.
Job Title: Grants Manager
Reports to: Development Director
Job Status: Full-time
Salary: $75,000 annually, some travel may be required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Completion and submission of grant applications and coordination of all stages of the grant process (60%) :
- Identify and research grant opportunities
- Draft language about new and emergent programming
- Execute the writing and timely submission of the grants and all related reporting
- Coordinate quarterly updates to program overviews;
- Maintain a grants tracking schedule, including inquiry / LOI, application, and reporting deadlines
- Keep relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables to ensure smooth completion of grant fulfillment
- Arrange regular meetings with program staff and related community partners to stay informed and knowledgeable about the organization's work in our various programmatic areas.
Management of funder relations (20%):
- Create and execute strategies for research, identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of new and current funders
- Ensure accurate capturing, recording, and reporting of foundation relationships in the CRM, including meetings and correspondence, updates, and tracking of the various stages of cultivation
- Manage Executive Director's cultivation activities with funders
- Lead the creation of LABB’s annual impact report
- Provide programmatic updates and annual impact reports to program officers
- Maintain familiarity with issues and trends in fundraising and grant proposals
Ensure essential internal reporting and administration of grants (15%) :
- Maintain a grants fund tracking schedule with reporting deadlines and grants received and spend down dates
- Work with the Development Director, CFO, and Deputy Director to develop and maintain grant projections and budget
- Collaborate with Finance department to prepare financial reports in accordance with each grant requirement
- Maintain CRM records and organizational files for foundation grant applications, including proposals, budgets, award acknowledgment letters, and donation information
- Collect and maintain program metrics and quarterly updates from staff
- Maintain reporting compliance for all federal and multi-year funding
- Notify grassroots partner organizations of relevant grant opportunities
Provide support and assist with fundraising events and activities as needed (5%)
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of grant writing experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience with basic financial management skills, including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting
- Strong interpersonal, story-telling, and presentation skills
- Can relay an understanding of DEI principles and a high comfort level working in and with diverse spaces
- Excellent project management and organization skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects
- Strong command over written and verbal communication
- Ability to initiate projects and relationships, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as lead and/or work within a team
- Ability to handle confidential, financial, and personnel information with discretion and high ethical standards
- Exhibits expert-level computer skills using Microsoft Office, Bloomerang CRM, Google Workspace, and other related knowledge of software programs and online tools related to grants management and research
- Consistently approaches work with enthusiasm and a positive, constructive attitude
- Embraces the mission, vision, and values of Louisiana Bucket Brigade wholeheartedly
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working in social justice and/or environmental justice space is strongly preferred
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and be able to provide proof of
vaccination status
