Position Pre-requisites:
An entry-level candidate, designated Research Associate I (RAI) that may have no industrial experience. Candidate will have a minimum of four years of academia associated with attaining the B.S. degree. The Research Associate II (RAII) will require a B.S. and minimum of two years of industry experience. The Research Associate III (RAIII) designation will require a B.S. and a minimum of three years of industry experience.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and to maintain accurate records and notes.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks, when required.
Skills in problem solving and troubleshooting.
An ability to apply scientific principles and techniques to assigned projects.
A familiarity with standard Biology techniques and lab equipment is strongly preferred.
Position Duties:
Executes experiments designed by supervisor, initially with supervisors direction and then independently once experimental techniques are mastered.
Actively participates in project progress, not only by conducting experiments but also by troubleshooting experiments, understanding project goals and experimental questions, and proposing improvements or novel experiments/techniques.
Participates under the direction of lead scientist(s) and CSO in operations involving of complex systems and equipment; and assists in bioprocessing and manufacturing in accordance with defined goals.
Interacts with supervisor at least daily and asks questions as necessary to clarify instructions.
Keeps detailed records of experiments in lab notebook according to company guidelines.
Presents data and findings to supervisor and to company personnel.
Follows safety guidelines and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Acts in accordance with ServareGMPs mission as a chartable public benefit organization chartered to provide for vulnerable populations.
Responsible for specific operations in cell culture/fermentation.
Participates in effective working relationships with both internal and external partners.
Participates in departmental activities as needed, including project teams, task forces, audits and business or technical meetings with outside groups.
Operates to the highest ethical and moral standards.
Complies with ServareGMPs policies and procedures.
Adheres to quality standards set by regulations and ServareGMPs policies, procedures and mission.
Communicates effectively with Lead Scientist(s), Executive Director, CSO, colleagues and subordinates.
Participates in leadership and management development activities.
Travels as needed for career development, technical training, evaluation/integration of new technologies, and support tech transfer for client projects.
