Job Title: Overnight and Weekend Care Staff
Reports To: Clinical Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $18-$20/HR
*This is a new facility opening in mid - August 2024. 30 hours of staff training will begin early August.
Sum mary: The primary purpose of this role is to provide supervision for our clients and to ensure their safety while building a rapport with them. This includes providing assistance to each client in working with a group and in handling individual problems; responsibility for setting of limits for behavior; creating documentation of the clients progress; identifying the possible need for professional services and communications of such findings to professional staff.
* This role requires working with adult male sex offenders in a residential setting
Weekend Shifts 8:00am - 8:00pm & 8:00pm - 8:00am
Weekday Shifts 5:00pm – 12:00am & 12:00am – 8:00am (Shifts may vary by 30min depending on the day of the week)
** part-time hours up to 32 hours a week
Duties and Responsibilities - Responsible for whereabouts of residents and what they are doing at all times.
- Monitor resident’s behaviours.
- Facilitate residential daily schedule including participating in, and providing support to residents, to include but not limited to, activities such as chores, deep clean of designated space, meal service, laundry service, groups, activities, and events.
- Carry out regular checks on residents.
- To administer medication at designated times, as prescribed by the GP.
- Assist with planning individual care for residents as needed.
- Communicate with the Clinical staff both verbally and in writing about the residents’ general condition and developments in the home.
- Rotate being on call in case emergency coverage is needed.
- To answer the telephone and take messages as required.
- Take residents out on outings.
- Oversee visitation.
- Perform some case management tasks (e.g., set up medical appointments, daily living skills, resume writing, insurance enrollment).
- Write case notes during each shift.
- Practice compliance with all policies, record keeping requirements, assigned documentation, and any other assigned duties.
- Ability to manage time effectively and to multi-task.
- Remain current and up to date on all training and certifications required to maintain employment with Steps For Change- Adult Residential.
- To have good knowledge of fire, emergency, first aid, CPR and security procedures

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
