Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The RevUp EV Grant Student Success Coach/Project Coordinator (herein referred to as "Coach Coordinator") will support the efforts of the RevUp Grant in accordance with the Mission and Values of the College of DuPage. The Coach Coordinator will primarily focus on recruitment, persistence, and completion of certificates and degrees through a multi-layered approach for the programs which are covered by the grant. The Coach Coordinator is tasked with developing multiple strategies to identify barriers to student success and to support students in enrollment, persistence and completion. This position is also responsible for data collection and quarterly reporting, oversight of the RevUp grant and the grant requirements under the guidance of the Project Investigator and the Departmental Dean. The Coach Coordinator interacts with students, faculty, internal departments, administration, and other department staff, as well others in the community. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality will be required. This position reports to the Dean of Business and Applied Technology Division and is part-time position, on campus, that may be renewed for an additional year dependent on grant funding and position outcomes.
Regularly track and report student information related to outreach, recruitment, admission, retention, persistence and completion of certificates and degrees for the programs covered by the grant.
Plan effective strategies to accomplish RevUp objectives and carryout the implementation of those strategies.
Review and evaluate internal spreadsheet reports of prospective students not registered and students registered as RevUp students; create separate spreadsheets with this information to reflect needed data. As part of recruitment efforts, reach out to each student via email with program, scholarship, and contact information; keep record of contact and course enrollment for reporting.
Assist individual students with the application processes for completion of COD certificates and degrees. Keep record (spreadsheet) of each application assistance, follow up that those applications are complete, and record the student completions.
Schedule regular meetings with students, do random check-ins, and proactively assist in referring to campus resources as applicable (i.e. Center for Access, Mental Health Counselors, Fuel Pantry); keep record of individual meetings for reporting.
Set up individual and/or group opportunities to provide academic supports such as study skills, time-management, reading and note-taking strategies. Refer students to the Learning Commons as needed for additional supports; keep record of individual/group meetings for reporting.
Represent the COD programs by regularly visiting high schools, open house events to share information regarding the RevUp Grant scholarship, transfer information, and the RevUp program at COD. Organize outreach events and/or meetings regularly with above mentioned entities; keep record of visits for reporting.
As appropriate, hold group meetings throughout each semester to encourage a sense of belonging, connect students to each other as peer supports, and provide professional networking within the program.
Assist all students who are eligible for the RevUp Grant scholarship through the application process, including navigating the FAFSA. Keep record of each application, follow up that they are complete, record the student completion, and record if/when each student received the scholarship.
Oversee all data collection. Design, monitor, and maintain databases with spreadsheets to be used for tracking and reporting student information related to outreach, admission, retention, persistence and completion of credentials and degrees. Use internal data spreadsheets to determine accurate student count and notes regarding students whose programs are supported by the RevUp Grant. Do additional data collection as needed. May also prepare and/or present data as requested by Program Chairs, administration, or ICCB/IBHE for regular reporting.
Attend in-service and division meetings, and Automotive Advisory Board meetings, participate in professional development opportunities and complete additional trainings as requested.
Assist with special projects and perform related duties as needed.
Qualifications: - Education
- Bachelor's Degree in management, or related field required.
- Experience
- Three to five (3-5) years experience in higher education, project management or related field required.
- Must have advanced computer skills, including data collection and analysis.
- Must have exceptional written and oral communication and customer relation skills.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented, results driven, self-starter, problem solver, and have the ability to maintain a prominent level of confidentiality.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience working with adult students and providing support is preferred.
- Experience with writing grant reports, budgets and financial aid is preferred.
Working Conditions: Travel as needed, in own vehicle, to meet requirements of the position.Flexible availability days, night and/or weekends, on and off campus, or via Zoom to meet requirements of the position.Must have a valid drivers license.This position requires a background check at the colleges expense.
Hybrid Remote Eligible: Hiring Range: Classified 14 Hourly/31.00 - 31.00
